‘Boston Legal’ Ends at Season 5
Boston Legal may have been renewed for another season but that doesn’t mean that ABC will run the legal dramedy for a long time. The network has just decided that the show’s fifth season will also be its last.
Though many were shocked by the announcement, McPherson went on to explain the ABC remake of the BBC hit Life on Mars caused Boston Legal to close its curtain. Given that David E. Kelley wrote most of the pilot, he now trades the series to October Road’s Josh Appelbaum, Andre Nemec and Scott Rosenberg in return for writing virtually every one of the final thirteen episodes of Boston Legal.
“Because we were able to make a deal to bring Boston Legal back, David is going to move over and I think write pretty much every [episode] of the final season of Boston,” McPherson explained.
Fans may be disappointed with the network’s decision to end Boston Legal, but at least, Crane, Poole and Schmidt can go out in style.
